SELFREFRENCE
Collage · Mixed Media · Identity
Selfreference is an ongoing exploration of the self as both subject and material. Through collage, I examine identity as something fragmented, inherited, performed, and continuously rewritten.
The body becomes a surface on which memory, language, family, and belief leave their marks. Fragments of images, symbols, and text collide and overlap, creating visual narratives that move between the personal and the collective, the sacred and the profane, the familiar and the estranged.
Drawing on mythology, cultural memory, religious imagery, and the contradictions of masculinity, these works question how the self is constructed, what we inherit without choosing, and what remains when familiar identities begin to fracture.
Rather than offering fixed answers, the collages exist as fragments of an unfinished dialogue with the self — an attempt to recognize, confront, and reconstruct the many versions of who we are.
